Menopause expert and educator, Meera Bhogal, has created awareness through educating
women to see that Menopause should not be feared or an unexplained and daunting
experience. As an expert, Meera’s first-hand experience and journey with menopause,
alongside data gathered from her own Menopause Programme clients, she has developed
core knowledge in tackling common myths surrounding Menopause, as well as practical and
easy tools to help support women to navigate this stage in their lives in a more informed
way.
Her desire to spread the word is based on her own first-hand experiences: In her 40’s,
Meera’s body began to change. She lost hair, experienced joint pain, stiffness, hot flushes,
brain fog. She didn’t know it was perimenopause. She wasn’t aware of HRT, and doctors
dismissed her by saying she was too young and even offered her antidepressants. Meera
researched and began to change her diet and lifestyle. It was a lonely time; in her
experience, South Asian culture women's health is a taboo and not discussed in any way.
Meera’s vision is to ensure that women do not suffer alone like she did and that they have
access to factual information about menopause so that they are able to make informed
choices to help them through this time. She has created a programme and community, so
women can learn how food, diet and lifestyle can help manage their menopausal symptoms
and feel fitter, healthier and stronger- both physically and mentally.
She has developed her own Menopause programmes, one focusing on women and the
other targeted at menopause in the workplace, and regularly delivers face to face and virtual
workshops and webinars. Her current programme Don’t Pause For Menopause has helped
more than 100+ women.
Meera has helped spread the word across many campaigns and platforms including the
Wellbeing of Women Campaign, and is part of a global research study called Menomillion.
She has been published in many articles and is an articulate and inspiring speaker.
An experienced speaker, she is hugely passionate about raising awareness of menopause,
especially within South Asian communities where it is often not spoken about openly. Meera
has presented a weekly health podcast for iGLOBAL news, a multi-media hub for Global

Asian Heritage Month 2021. She has been a contributor to articles featured in Fit & Well, On
